Reformed Church Home is excited to bring awareness to Activity Professionals Week! This annual event, which falls during the third week of January, is a special time to honor and appreciate the dedicated people who work tirelessly to enrich the lives of our residents through engaging and meaningful activities.
What is Activity Professionals Week?
Activity Professionals Week is a week-long celebration dedicated to recognizing the essential role that activity professionals play in the lives of those in nursing homes and assisted living communities.
The first National Activity Professionals Day was celebrated on January 27th,1984. It later expanded to include an entire week to honor activity professionals across the country.
Activity Professionals are specialists. They are practitioners who prioritize wellbeing, through the provision of activity and engagement, for adults who need support due to age, disability, illness, mental health condition, and addiction.
Reformed Church Home would like to specifically honor our activity directors Amy Wendel (Skilled Nursing) & Alberta Romaniello (Assisted Living) and their staff. They work diligently to create a vibrant and stimulating environment for our residents. More than organizers of games and events; they are compassionate caregivers who enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. They understand the unique needs and preferences of each resident, tailoring activities to promote happiness and a sense of belonging.
The team at Reformed Church Home and our residents are thankful for our Activity Professionals!
