“Each year we look forward to celebrating the cherished memories, honoring life achievements, and strengthening meaningful connections during special occasions. This year during National Assisted Living Week, I’m so grateful for the activities and life enrichment opportunities that the staff has created for this exciting month for our residents, their families and friends.”
During National Assisted Living Week, September 13–19, Reformed Church Home joins communities across the country in celebrating this year’s theme, “Shining Through the Years.”
The theme reminds us that every person carries a lifetime of cherished memories, meaningful achievements, and relationships that continue to shine. At RCH, that light is honored throughout our continuum of care—including Rehabilitation and Respite Care.
A rehabilitation stay is often a time of transition. Following an illness, injury, hospitalization, or surgery, individuals may arrive focused on regaining strength, rebuilding confidence, and returning to the activities they enjoy. Their history, however, is much larger than the health challenge that brought them to us.
They are parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and grandfriends, teachers and business owners, caregivers and community volunteers. They bring stories of families raised, friends made, careers built, obstacles overcome, and lives generously shared. Rehabilitation supports more than physical recovery—it helps each person reconnect with the life that remains important to them.
For some individuals and families, a rehabilitation or respite stay may also provide an opportunity to learn more about Assisted Living. They can experience RCH’s welcoming environment, become acquainted with members of our team, and discover how Assisted Living can offer the right balance of independence, personal support, companionship, and security.
The relationships formed during Rehabilitation and Respite Care can become reassuring bridges into a new chapter of life. Familiar faces, trusted caregivers, and a growing sense of belonging can make future transitions feel less uncertain and more hopeful.
During National Assisted Living Week, we celebrate the strength of those working toward recovery and the dedication of those supporting them.
At Reformed Church Home, every step forward provides another opportunity for a remarkable life to keep shining.
